A well-established organization is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant – Finance to join their team in Lubbock. This role is essential to the successful financial tracking and reporting of the Section 8 housing program, with added responsibility for managing a small caseload of specialty vouchers. This is a great opportunity for a finance-savvy professional with a strong command of Excel and a passion for organized, meaningful work in a mission-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage accurate financial records for the Section 8 housing program.
  • Handle accounts payable duties, ensuring accurate and timely rent payments to landlords.
  • Manage accounts receivable processes related to portability vouchers, including billing and payment tracking with other Housing Authorities.
  • Prepare, track, and organize complex Excel spreadsheets for program reporting.
  • Develop and document procedures for the role to support program consistency and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and processing in compliance with government regulations and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable and receivable is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with government documents, policies, and program compliance.
  • Strong written documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Section 8 programs or public housing operations is a plus.
