Our client is looking for an experienced accounting professional who can take ownership of assignments, work directly with clients, contribute to the development of junior staff, and become an important part of the firm's continued success.The team has developed a genuinely close working environment over the years — more like friends and family than simply coworkers — while maintaining the professional standards and client service expected from an established accounting practice.If you have strong audit and accounting experience and are ready for more responsibility, visibility, and long-term career potential, we'd love to talk with you.AUDITOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, perform, and complete audit and assurance engagementsExamine financial statements, accounting records, internal controls, and supporting documentationPerform substantive testing and analytical proceduresIdentify accounting discrepancies, internal control concerns, and potential areas of financial riskPrepare audit workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with professional standardsAnalyze financial information and communicate findings clearly and accuratelyPrepare and/or review financial statements and related reportsWork directly with clients to obtain documentation, resolve questions, and complete engagements efficientlyResearch accounting and auditing issues as neededAssist with the planning, scheduling, and completion of client engagementsReview work performed by less experienced accounting staff as assignedProvide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team membersMaintain strong, professional relationships with established clientsManage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines throughout the yearTravel to client locations for onsite audit and accounting engagements AUDITOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredPublic accounting experience strongly preferredPrevious audit, assurance, or senior-level accounting experienceCPA strongly preferred; candidates actively working toward CPA licensure are encouraged to applyStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and audit proceduresAbility to analyze financial records and identify discrepancies or areas requiring additional reviewStrong organizational and time-management abilitiesExceptional attention to detailAbility to manage deadlines and multiple client engagementsProfessional written and verbal communication skillsStrong client service and relationship-building abilitiesProficiency with accounting, audit, and financial softwareQuickBooks experience is beneficialAbility and willingness to travel approximately 30–40 nights annually outside of LubbockAdditional regional client travel is required, with many locations allowing for same-day travel to and from LubbockAUDITOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary: $85,000–$105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.Our client offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: Comprehensive health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceEstablished client relationshipsProfessional growth and increasing responsibilityTeam leadership and mentoring opportunitiesLong-term career stabilityClose-knit, collaborative firm culture A PUBLIC ACCOUNTING CAREER WITH ROOM TO GROW If you're an experienced auditor or senior accountant who enjoys client work but wants to be somewhere you are known, valued, and able to make an impact, this could be an outstanding next move.Yes, this position requires travel — approximately 30–40 overnight stays annually, along with regional day travel.
