Salary: $70,000-90,000 DOE

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Snelling Staffing Services is partnering with a well-established, manufacturing-focused organization in Lubbock to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working closely with manufacturing, quality, and customers to bring engineered components from concept through production.
This is not an entry-level role. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of real-world manufacturing experience, strong CAD and documentation skills, and the ability to independently manage engineering projects in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering Design & Documentation
- Develop, analyze, and interpret engineering specifications, requirements, and technical documentation to support the manufacture of precision components
- Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and qualified prints using CAD software
- Produce clear work instructions and documentation to support manufacturing, materials, assemblies, and testing
Manufacturing & Technical Support
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and customers to ensure engineered solutions meet functional and production requirements
- Support fixture, tooling, and process design as needed to improve manufacturability and efficiency
- Assist with blueprint interpretation, inspection criteria, and quality processes
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct research, data analysis, and mathematical evaluations to validate designs and ensure feasibility
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure dimensional accuracy and proper tolerancing
- Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reduction, and process optimization
Project & Cost Support
- Estimate engineering costs and contribute to quote development
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and priorities
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related Engineering discipline required)
- 3–5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools
- Experience working with metals, alloys, and machined or cast components preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
