Location: Lubbock, TX
Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite
Compensation: $80,000–$120,000 base (DOE) + potential bonus; for an exceptional match, a higher range can be considered

About the Role

Our client is expanding its finance team and is open to a range of experience levels. If you bring solid fundamentals and strong ERP chops, they’re ready to invest in your growth. This is a hands-on role focused on month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement—with a clear runway to Controller for the right performer.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the close: prepare/approve journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and deliver accurate monthly financials in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reporting & analysis: assemble timely P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and management KPI dashboards; highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Budgeting & forecasting: support annual plan and rolling forecasts; track variances and drive accountability with department leaders.
  • Cost & inventory support (manufacturing): assist with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation; partner with operations to tighten controls.
  • Controls & policy: help maintain documented accounting policies and strengthen internal controls to reduce risk.
  • ERP super-user: improve data integrity, streamline workflows, and build useful financial/operational reports in the ERP.
  • Audit & compliance: coordinate external auditor requests and maintain audit-ready schedules; support tax preparers as needed.
  • Cross-functional partner: collaborate with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve processes and outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent experience.
  • ERP experience is required (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Sage, Oracle).
  • Strong Excel (lookups, pivots) and month-end close/reconciliation skills.
  • Proven initiative, learning agility, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience (years are flexible—high-aptitude early-career candidates will be considered).
  • Manufacturing/industrial accounting and cost accounting exposure.
  • CPA or CMA; MBA is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring others or leading small projects/initiatives.
