OFFICE MANAGER

Lubbock, TX | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Snelling is seeking an experienced Office Manager for a well-established, highly respected law firm in Lubbock. This is a key leadership and administrative position responsible for keeping the day-to-day business operations of a busy professional office running smoothly while supporting approximately 30 attorneys and staff members.

Our client is looking for a warm, polished, highly professional go-getter who knows how to take ownership of a role. The right person will be proactive, resourceful, confident working independently, and comfortable navigating different personalities and priorities. This is not a position where someone will be given a step-by-step playbook — they need an Office Manager who can assess what needs to be done, take the bull by the horns, and make it happen.

Confidentiality and discretion are absolutely critical. Prior experience working in a law firm, banking, financial services, accounting, insurance, or another highly confidential professional environment is strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily operations, organization, and administrative workflow of the law office
  • Serve as a central point of contact for approximately 30 attorneys and staff members
  • Handle day-to-day human resources and employee-related matters professionally and confidentially
  • Coordinate with a third-party payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Maintain sensitive employee, payroll, financial, and business information with the highest level of confidentiality
  • Work effectively with attorneys, employees, vendors, and a variety of professional personalities
  • Oversee runners and help coordinate assignments, schedules, and workflow
  • Assist with general business insurance administration and serve as a liaison regarding insurance-related needs
  • Support basic accounting, bookkeeping, financial recordkeeping, and administrative functions as needed
  • Help maintain organized office records, files, documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Identify operational needs and proactively address issues before they become problems
  • Coordinate meetings, communication, and office logistics
  • Take ownership of projects and follow through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Serve as a dependable resource for attorneys and staff while helping maintain a professional, efficient office environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Office Manager, Legal Office Manager, Administrative Manager, Practice Manager, HR/Office Manager, or senior administrative experience
  • Experience working in a law firm, legal office, banking, finance, accounting, insurance, or another confidential professional environment is highly preferred
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Experience handling employee relations, HR matters, payroll coordination, or personnel administration
  • Strong organizational and office management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Professional, approachable, and confident communicating with executives, attorneys, employees, and outside vendors
  • Self-directed and proactive with the ability to recognize what needs to be done without waiting for instruction
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisions and take ownership
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Comfortable using Zoom and other business technology
  • Experience with Clio legal practice management software is a plus
  • QuickBooks knowledge and general accounting/bookkeeping experience are a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependable, polished, professional, and able to work effectively with a wide range of personalities
