Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist in Lubbock, Tx

MEDICAL BILLING & ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

Lubbock, TX | $20+/Hour DOE | Full-Time

Snelling is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist for an established Lubbock healthcare organization. We are especially interested in candidates with home health, hospice, or long-term care billing experience. Compensation is competitive and may exceed $20/hour for candidates with strong, directly related experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and submit medical insurance claims accurately and timely
• Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, rejected, and denied claims
• Correct and resubmit claims or appeals as necessary
• Work directly with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance carriers, and other payers to resolve billing issues
• Monitor A/R aging and proactively address payment delays and payer trends
• Generate billing, collections, and accounts receivable reports
• Assist patients with insurance coverage, benefits, balances, and payment arrangements
• Maintain current knowledge of payer requirements and regulatory changes
• Maintain accurate, confidential billing and patient records

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Medical billing, insurance billing, A/R, or healthcare collections experience preferred
• Home health, hospice, or long-term care billing experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, claims, denials, and appeals
• Experience with EMR/EHR or medical billing software
• Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication and customer service skills
