TAX MANAGER JOB SUMMARY

CPA ready for something bigger than your next tax season?

Snelling is recruiting an experienced Tax Manager / CPA for a highly respected, established Lubbock accounting firm offering a career opportunity that doesn't come along often: $95,000–$140,000 annual compensation and the potential for an accelerated path to ownership/partnership.

And here's an important distinction: you will NOT be expected to solicit or generate new business to get there.

Our client already has an established client base and is looking for an accomplished tax professional who can step into a significant leadership role, manage client relationships, lead and develop accounting staff, and provide sophisticated tax planning and compliance expertise.

This is an opportunity for a CPA who has built the technical expertise and leadership ability to help run a practice — and wants a future that reflects it.

You'll join a close-knit group of professionals who have built lasting relationships with both their clients and one another. For the right individual, ownership/partnership isn't a vague someday possibility. There is potential for that transition to happen quickly.

TAX MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage tax engagements for an established portfolio of clients
  • Oversee and review federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Manage complex individual, partnership, corporate, and business tax matters
  • Develop proactive tax planning strategies and identify tax-saving opportunities
  • Research complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key client relationships
  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop staff and senior accountants
  • Review team members' work for accuracy, compliance, and quality
  • Manage workflow, priorities, deadlines, and client deliverables

  • Assume increasing leadership responsibility with the potential to transition into firm ownership/partnership

  • Active CPA license REQUIRED
  • Progressive public accounting and tax experience
  • Significant experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation for individuals and business entities
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team management experience
  • Ability to mentor and develop accounting professionals
  • Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong professional communication and client relationship skills
  • Proficiency with professional tax and accounting software

TAX MANAGER COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Our client offers an exceptional overall opportunity, including:

  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Established client portfolio
  • Leadership and team management responsibilities
  • Long-term stability with a respected Lubbock firm
  • Accelerated ownership/partnership potential
  • No requirement to solicit or generate new business

YOUR NEXT MOVE COULD BE OWNERSHIP

If you're already a successful CPA but find yourself asking, "Where does this actually lead?" — this is the opportunity worth exploring.

Our client isn't looking for someone to spend years proving they can bring in business before being considered for partnership. The clients are already there. The work is already there.

They're looking for the right CPA to help lead it.

Qualified candidates should submit a resume for confidential and immediate consideration. Snelling will contact selected candidates to discuss the opportunity and client firm in greater detail.
