Assistant Controller (ERP & Epicor Experience Required)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our client’s growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional with 3-5 years of experience who thrives in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with ERP systems--Epicor, preferred), and a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Heavily involved in the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Work closely with senior leadership to analyze financial performance, cost structures, and profitability trends.
- Lead financial reporting efforts and support external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within financial operations to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to financial reporting and tax filings.
- Support ERP system optimizations, enhancements, and Epicor integrations to streamline accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates from manufacturing or similar industries.
- Proficiency in ERP systems is required – Epicor experience is an absolute must.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required.
- Experience in financial planning, cost accounting, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with process automation and ERP system enhancements.
